Three impasto blossoms in chalk-white and pearl rise on slim charcoal stems through this hand-painted oil on canvas, set against a brushed dove-gray ground and lifted by warm metallic-gold leaves and centers that catch the light like burnished foil. The temperature is split deliberately between cool gray surround and warm white-and-gold blooms, and the picture lives in the small balance between them.

The color story moves through three close voices. Cool: silver, dove gray and a faint blue undertone in the brushed ground. Bright: chalky pearl-white in the layered petals, dragged into real ridges by the knife.
