It is a faithful copy of the original, and we will always call it that; nobody here pretends a reproduction is the real Mucha or the actual Klimt. What Art Nouveau Was

It bloomed around 1890 to 1910, across posters, glass, ironwork and paint, all sharing that flowing, plant-like line. The style wanted art woven into everyday life, not shut away in galleries for the few. We think that is exactly why it works so well as a reproduction on a normal wall; it was never meant to be locked up in the first place. A hallway panel or a framed poster-style piece brings that idea straight back to life in a modern home.

Colour in these works is usually soft and slightly faded, closer to stained glass than to a printed poster. We keep it that way and resist the temptation to brighten it for modern taste. The gold, though, we render properly by hand, since a flat yellow stand-in never catches the shimmer the originals rely on.

How We Paint It

These pieces live on their line, so our painter draws the design carefully before any colour goes down. Then we lay in the soft, decorative tones and add the gold accents by hand, which is where a lot of the character sits. We send you a photo partway through. If a colour is off, we fix it before the varnish goes on. Simple as that, and no surprises when the tube arrives at your door.
